The world is starting to open up a bit but this Father’s Day will still be different for many. Different does not mean bad! Lanark County has so much to offer. Check out these Father’s Day ideas!

Hiking…

Lanark County has trails for days! For the avid hiking dad or the beginner there are trails to suit everyone! This is not a complete list (stay tuned for a later blog that will be!).

Check out Baird Trail in the Lanark Highlands (1024 Herron Mills Rd, Lanark) This is a low impact trail with tons of space for social distancing. With beautiful, well-marked and maintained trails this is great for families to enjoy.

Check out High Lonesome Nature Reserve (867 Carbine Rd, Pakenham). This reserve has 8 km’s of trails and a varied landscape with ponds and lots of wildlife close by. Lovely serene setting with a few hills to climb.

Check out The Mill of Kintail Conservation Area (2854 Ramsay Concession 8, Almonte) This is a favourite of mine set along the beautiful Indian River. Lot’s of space for families to stretch out and beautiful well-maintained paths. A must go!

Golf…

In last week’s blog I talked about golfing in Mississippi Mills. Check out this list with some added on locations within Lanark County!

Scottish Glen Golf Course (1994 Scotch Corners Road)

Mississippi Golf Club (341 Wilson Street)

Pakenham Highlands Golf Course (112 McWatty Road)

Timber Run Golf Course (154 Caldwell St, Lanark)

Blue Heron Golf Club (3417 McDonalds Corners Rd, Lanark)

Beckwith Golf Course (669 Perth Rd, Smiths Falls)

Perth Golf Course (141 Peter St, Perth)

Mapleview Golf & Country Club (2856 Scotchline Rd, Perth)

Let me know if I missed one!!!

Socializing…

The Government has upped the limit for groups to 10 people, which for many, means that your family can hang out with another family for Father’s Day! The recommendation is to keep it outside and distanced but spending time with loved ones will feel like such a luxury these days! Make it a pot luck or whatever feels best for you and spend time chatting with friends…imagine!
